POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general guidance of the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Advertising and Design Specialist will be responsible for the design and execution of Wexford Health marketing and advertising programs, marketing collateral, internal promotions, designated external communications, etc.  The Advertising and Design Specialist will ensure all components of the company’s marketing programs (e.g., print ads in industry publications and conference programs; electronic listings on industry websites; directory listings, etc.) are updated, accurate, and as contracted for; develop and maintain relationships with appropriate health care and corrections industry organizations, third-party vendors, and internal Wexford Health departments; and provide support to external Wexford Health marketing/design agencies.  He or she will support the Director, Marketing and Communications with strategies for ad placement and design; marketing channels (e.g., print, electronic media, trade shows, etc.); and branding for proprietary Wexford Health products and services.  The Advertising and Design Specialist will perform analysis of Wexford Health competitors’ marketing efforts; develop copy and images for ads and marketing brochures; and target specific audiences through a variety of media to boost Wexford Health’s revenue, increase positive media exposure, and otherwise improve the company's public image.  Additionally, the Advertising and Design Specialist will support Wexford Health’s business development and client acquisition strategies by developing graphics, infographics, and narrative content for the company’s proposals.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Advertising and Design Specialist will work as part of a team to identify Wexford Health’s advertising/marketing goals, identify the company's target markets, and develop strategies for effectively reaching those target markets.

  1. Coordinates with writers, graphic artists, marketing and PR agencies, and internal Wexford Health departments to design and execute marketing, advertising, and other appropriate projects.
  2. Manages Wexford Health graphic design projects, including liaising with internal clients (departments) to determine their requirements and budget; advising them with regard to design style, format, print production, and timelines; developing concepts, graphics, and layouts for the projects; and liaising with external printers to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  3. With the Director, Marketing and Communications, negotiates and manages Wexford Health’s marketing contracts with the major industry associations.
  4. With the Director, Marketing and Communications, collaborates with the company’s external marketing/PR firms to design and maintain a portfolio of marketing materials for the Business Development team for use in industry publications, conference programs, online directories, etc.
  5. Maintains a portfolio of corporate stationery (paper and electronic) for use by all Wexford Health locations.
  6. Assists in the development and management of any Wexford Health digital marketing and/or social media programs.?
  7. Assists in developing public relations strategies to positively influence public opinion or promote Wexford Health ideas, products and services.
  8. Manages assigned budget, including negotiation of marketing/advertising fees and the timely processing of pertinent invoices.

In addition to the primary duties listed above, the Advertising and Design Specialist will also be responsible for the following functions, as necessary:

  1. Creates and edits various other written documents, including but not limited to white papers, feature media articles, press releases, award nominations, etc.
  2. Assists with the development of proposal documents, including research, strategy, and the creation of narrative content, presentations, etc.
  3. Helps to maintain the Wexford Health website and intranet.
  4. Attends industry trade shows and conferences across the country, as required.
  5. Perform other tasks as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Standard medical setting within a correctional facility, which includes daily interfacing with inmate patients, correctional staff, and health care personnel. Temperature extremes may be encountered while moving throughout the facility outdoors and indoors in buildings without air conditioning.


 

TRAVEL: Estimated 2 to 3 trips per year, 3 to 4 days at a time.

CERTIFICATION: None required

EDUCATION: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, graphic design, or a related field preferred.  Equivalent/relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate or other professional environment. Must have solid communication, multi-tasking, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud products including Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
