POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general guidance of the Director, Operations for Maryland, in accordance with the Duvall Settlement agreement, provide ongoing administrative oversight to ensure adherence to the agreement.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of the Duvall Agreement, DPSCS and company policies/ procedures including developed processes and clinical protocols.
  2. Oversee and manage the maintenance of audit results and supportive documentation records to comply with all sections of the Duvall agreement.
  3. Collaborate with leadership to ensure effective and efficient corrective action plans are implemented and monitored with documented outcomes for non-compliant trends.
  4. Identify ongoing issues and problem areas from audit outcomes and facilitate corrective actions to resolve identified problems/issues.
  5. Collaborate with other vendors, subcontractors and custody staff to address deficiencies involving clinical care and coordination of services.
  6. Oversee the analysis of data and prepare required reports as directed.
  7. Perform ongoing review of audit documents for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  8. Educate/mentor clinical and administrative staff regarding all aspects of the Duvall Agreement and compliance efforts.
  9. Ensure adherence to audit methodologies and adjust audit tools when necessary to meet expectations of the Agreement.
  10. Attend MAC, Access to Care and CQI meetings for Duvall associated facilities.
  11. Periodic chart audit validation to ensure adherence and accurate assessments.
  12. Responsible for the completion and compilation of reports, supportive documents for final submission.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Standard medical setting in a correctional facility, which includes daily interfacing with inmates, correctional staff, and health care personnel.

Temperature extremes may be encountered while moving throughout the facility outdoors and indoors in buildings without air conditioning.

TRAVEL

Occasional to attend meetings at other facilities

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements list the minimum to qualify.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

LICENSING: N/A

CERTIFICATION: CPR, Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) preferred

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business; Registered Nurse degree preferred

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years’ management experience within a healthcare unit in a correctional environment
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Access, creating databases and spreadsheets using formulas, statistical analysis, trending, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with medical staff and state correctional administrative staff; ability to lead and motivate team members
  • Demonstrates strong project management and follow-up skills
  • Ability to competently manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • System and process analysis experience
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills
