POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the designated Wexford Health manager and clinical supervision from the Sexually Violent Persons (SVP) Clinical Program Director, interviews, evaluates, and communicates findings in writing to provide guidance to parole agents and community based clinicians with regards to specialized supervision and treatment of sex offenders. Duties include assessment and consultation with Clinical Program Director as appropriate.

JOB RELATIONS

  • Direct supervision from a Wexford Health SVP Clinical Program Director
  • In the absence of an SVP Clinical Program Director, Direct Supervision from the Designated Wexford Manager.
  • Supervision from IDOC Personnel as appropriate, including but not limited to Agency’s Coordinator for Sex Offender Services.
  • Works effectively with offenders, all clinical staff as well as custody and administrative staff on all levels, Attorney General’s Office, State Attorney’s Offices, and Agency’s Coordinator for Sex Offender Services.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitors projected release dates of sex offenders incarcerated at assigned facilities.
  2. Reviews master files of sex offenders within IDOC prior to conducting interviews.
  3. Conducts clinical interviews of designated offenders.
  4. Completes evaluation reports based on review of records and clinical interviews utilizing approved reporting format as directed by the Agency Coordinator for Sex Offender Services and the Clinical Program Director.
  5. Attend all required training and administrative meetings scheduled by the Agency’s Coordinator for Sex Offender Services and/or SVP Clinical Program Director.
  6. Upon receiving the necessary training and/or instruction, perform other duties as required or assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Home office setting. Temperature extremes may be encountered while moving throughout the facility outdoors and indoors in buildings without air conditioning.


 

The following requirements list the minimum to qualify.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

TRAVEL: Moderate travel required with occasional overnight stays.

LICENSING: Currently licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor or Social Worker within the state of Illinois. State of Illinois Sex Offender Evaluator license Eligible.

CERTIFICATION: Current CPR certification.

EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Social Work

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Correctional experience
  • Two years post-degree clinical experience
