POSITION SUMMARY

Oversees provision of clinical services to ensure that healthcare staff performs job duties to meet or exceed minimum level to insure site accreditation. Conducts internal audits, develops corrective action plans and implements various activities to improve overall quality of organization.  Is nursing expert/ resource for all sites.  Participates in and serves as a resource to the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.  Tracks and analyzes trends and outcome reports and advises management on areas to improve upon.  Ensure all government and facility regulations as well as contract terms are adhered to.   Assists in accreditation process. May provide interim leadership to sites with vacant DON or H.S.A. positions.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develops and trains clinical policies/ procedures related to ACA, NCCHC, JCAHO, and NCQA standards or similar health industry standards.
  2. Provides nursing and operations resource to sites.
  3. Conducts internal audits
  4. Develops corrective action plans and assists in implementation of improvement processes
  5. Collaborates with nurse educator to provide nursing education
  6. Assists sites in survey activities
  7. Mentors new Directors of Nursing as requested

Monthy:

  1. Reports at CQI, MAC or other scheduled meetings regarding health services.
  2. Provides training to on-site staff based on areas for improvement identified by the CQI Committee

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Standard office environment.


 

LICENSING: Current state Registered Nursing license

CERTIFICATION: CCHP or CCHP-A; NCCHC accreditation a plus

EDUCATION: BS in nursing or comparable field

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Five (5)+ years in a senior nursing management role

OTHER PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proactive, self-starter.
