The Regional Medical Director oversees facilities throughout the Cumberland region, provides on-site care and manages a staff of healthcare professionals.
The Regional Medical Director serves as a liaison between the medical/clinical staff, correctional site operations, corporate and regional offices, and the state correctional and medical leadership. Maintains a close working relationship with the Regional Medical Director(s), Chief Medical Officer, Regional Administrator(s) and the Regional Vice Presidents(s), with oversight and administrative responsibilities for all sites in the region. They will participate in clinical program development, quality management, utilization management and staff education in a manner consistent with the corporate objectives and philosophy of Wexford Health Sources. The proper candidate will work effectively with patients, patient families as appropriate, medical and nursing staff, security staff at all levels and administrative and support staff (i.e., pharmacy, laboratory, consulting physicians, dentists, etc.)
Must have a current Maryland Medical license.
Five (5) years of clinical experience preferred.
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
Experience or training in administrative aspects of health care.
Correctional Healthcare experience preferred.
