 The Regional Mental Health Quality Assurance Coordinator for mental health leads daily operations of the Mental Health Clinical Quality Improvement initiative, including supervision of the Quality Assurance QMHP. The Coordinator will plan, develop, organize, communicate, and execute the Mental Health QI Program including all required Clinical Quality activities.

  • Inter-relates and works effectively with management, staff, patients, all clinical staff, custody and administrative staff on all levels and at all locations.



  1. Develops and/or revise annually the QI program, work plan and annual evaluation.
  2. Develops and submit QI activity progress reports.
  3. Develops and/or revise annually QI policies and procedures.
  4. Oversees all clinical QI activities.
  5. Monitors and report to the Clinical Quality Improvement Committee on improvement activities in accordance with the QI program.
  6. Oversees compliance required by regulatory agencies including investigation of quality of care concerns.
  7. Interfaces with all internal departments to ensure compliance to the QI program policies and procedures.
  8. Serves as liaison between Wexford Health, IDOC and outside agencies for QI activities.
  9. May lead accreditation processes.
  10. Identifies vendors for audit compliance and assists with contract negotiation.
  11. Oversees data collection, analysis, reporting and follow-up.
  12. Identifies compliance problems and formulate recommendations for corrective action.
  13. Develops presentations and reports for internal management, Quality Improvement Committee and other groups.
  14. Updates all QI policies and procedures.
  15. Provides formal CQI education to all Wexford Health employees.
  16. Hires, supervises and evaluates QI personnel.

Employee may be exposed to a challenging environment, which may include exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens, verbal and physical assault, and loud noises.



Standard medical setting in a correctional facility, which includes daily interfacing with inmates, correctional staff, and health care personnel.

Temperature extremes may be encountered while moving throughout the facility outdoors and indoors in buildings without air conditioning.






Licensed in the State of Illinois in psychology, counseling, social work or related field.


Current CPR certification


Master’s degree in Clinical  Psychology, Counseling or Social Work

Preferred experience

At least two (2) years experience in providing clinical service in a correctional or forensic setting; have demonstrated experience or expertise in developing and/or managing post-graduate training programs in mental health or corrections; clearly demonstrated organizational and clinical leadership skills, and have excellent clinical observation skills and interpersonal skills.
