POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Wexford Health Sexually Violent Persons (SVP) Clinical Program Director.  Duties include assessment, consultation, and review of records as appropriate.  Communicates clinical and actuarial findings in writing to determine referral status of sexually violent persons as defined by the Illinois Sexually Violent Persons Act. 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists in screening of SVP cases to determine evaluation and interview eligibility
  2. Reviews case files.
  3. Conducts interviews of offenders who meet the criteria for Civil Commitment under the Illinois Statute for Sexually Violent Persons.
  4. Completes actuarial instruments on assigned offenders including, but not limited to Static 99-R, MnSOST, and the PCL-R.
  5. Prepares and submits evaluation reports in the status of either “Referral” or “Non-Referral” to the SVP Clinical Program Director for review and approval.
  6. Provides expert testimony in probable cause hearing and bench or jury trials
  7. Attends continuing education conferences and workshops as needed to maintain licensure and certification
  8. Attends all training and administrative meetings scheduled by the Agency’s Coordinator for Sex Offender Services and/or the SVP Clinical Program Director.
  9. Provides evaluations of employees at the direction of the Facility CAO in emergencies.
  10. Maintains the confidentiality of offender records.
  11. Approaches change in a positive manner.
  12. Makes suggestions for improving work conditions to the Wexford Health Manager.
  13. Accepts constructive criticism in stressful situations.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
  15. Conforms to Wexford Health Sources, Inc., and facility regulations as appropriate, to include, but not be limited to:
  • Dress code
  • Schedule/time sheet/time clock
  • Safety and security regulations
  • Procedure for sick leave/vacation time/education seminars

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements list the minimum to qualify.  An equivalent combination of education and experience maybe accepted.

TRAVEL: Moderate travel required with occasional overnight stays.

LICENSING: Current license in the State of Illinois

CERTIFICATION: Sex Offender Management Board

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three (3) Years in the treatment and/or evaluation of sex offenders.
  • In-depth familiarity with DSM-IV-TR.
  • Knowledge of Static-99, Static-99R, Static-2002, MnSOST-R, STABLE-2000, ACUTE-2000 risk assessment instruments.
  • Familiar with Hare Psychopathy Checklist.
  • Testifying as expert witness in court.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word application.

EDUCATION:

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
  • 20 hours of training in the area of evaluating sex offenders each calendar year
