POSITION SUMMARY
The EHR Project Specialist is accountable for the implementation and training project management aspects of the Electronic Health Record. The EHR Project Specialist will work closely with the EHR Project Director and IT Project Director to ensure all client specifications for the successful installation of the EHR are achieved.  Collaborative, effective interaction with executives, department directors, physicians and all other clinical staff is essential.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Develops expertise in the assigned application(s) and can demonstrate proficiency in customization, training, and trouble-shooting issues with on-site staff.
2.    Assists EHR implementation focusing on training, customization of the system, and on-going staff support that includes the following project tasks:

•    Assists in developing the project plan including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets

•    Assists in interface development including JMS, lab, pharmacy and radiology

3.    Leads process analysis and documentation to ensure client specifications are met and EHR documentation is adequate and reportable

•    Facilitates workflow evaluation and coordinates EHR redesign efforts

•    Makes recommendations to revise workflows to improve inefficiencies 

•    Ensures client policies, directives, and reporting data are efficiently captured in the EHR

•    Coordinates clinical content customization including forms and templates customization
•    Collaborates with the project team on approval of forms/templates and workflows

4.    Coordinates all aspects of training and ensures all users receive adequate/remedial training.

•    Facilitates initial training for project team and super users
•    Coordinates training for end-users and continually evaluates need for remedial or refresher training
•    Develops Wexford Health training materials including comprehensive training manual, instructional videos and pocket guides

5.    Develops and maintains EHR ScoreCard for all Wexford EHR implementations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Nursing Degree preferred or technical certification in Electronic Health Records

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health care administration or training.  Software project and/or product management experience preferred.  Customer service/technical support experience preferred.  Direct experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
