PAY RANGE: $54 per hour to $70 per hour

What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in screening SVP cases to determine eligibility for evaluation and interviews.
  • Review case files and conduct interviews with offenders who meet the criteria for Civil Commitment under the Illinois Statute for Sexually Violent Persons.
  • Complete actuarial instruments, including Static 99-R, MnSOST, and the PCL-R, for assigned offenders.
  • Prepare and submit evaluation reports in the status of either “Referral” or “Non-Referral” to the SVP Clinical Program Director for review and approval.
  • Provide expert testimony during probable cause hearings and bench or jury trials.
  • Attend continuing education conferences and workshops to maintain licensure and certification.
  • Attend training and administrative meetings scheduled by the Agency’s Coordinator for Sex Offender Services and/or the SVP Clinical Program Director.
  • Conduct employee evaluations as directed by the Facility CAO in emergencies.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of offender records at all times.
  • Participate in improving work conditions and adapting to change in a positive manner.
  • Accept constructive criticism in stressful situations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Collaboration & Supervision

  • Collaborate with the SVP Clinical Program Director and other staff to ensure thorough and consistent evaluations.
  • Assist in the management of case files and ongoing offender assessments.

What You’ll Bring
Education:

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
  • 20 hours of training in the area of evaluating sex offenders each calendar year

Licensing: Active Clinical Psychologist license in Illinois.
Certification: Sex Offender Management Board Certification.
Travel: Moderate travel required with occasional overnight stays.
Preferred Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in the treatment and/or evaluation of sex offenders.
  • In-depth familiarity with DSM-IV-TR and various risk assessment instruments such as Static-99, Static-99R, Static-2002, MnSOST-R, STABLE-2000, and ACUTE-2000.
  • Experience using the Hare Psychopathy Checklist.
  • Experience testifying as an expert witness in court..
