POSITION: Associate Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee
SCHEDULE: Opportunities available for day and evening shifts
FACILITY: Shawnee Correctional Center
LOCATION: Vienna, Illinois
PAY RATE: $28/hr.

Position Summary
As an Associate Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee in our facility, you’ll do more than care for patients – you’ll lead, support, and advocate. Under the direct supervision of the designated Wexford Health manager and clinical supervision from a Psychologist or clinically licensed QMHP, you will provide mental health services to individuals in our care. Responsibilities include assessments, consultations, liaison activities, and appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions.

What You’ll Need:

Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or psychology
-
Licensure is not required to start; however, candidates must obtain an LSW, LPC, ALMFT, LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT within 960 hours of employment.

Candidates must also demonstrate eligibility for licensure pending completion of the respective licensure exam. Eligibility can be demonstrated through the completion of a Master’s or Doctoral program that meets IDFPR board approval, such as:

A Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)–accredited Master’s program
-
A Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)–accredited Master’s program
-
A program accredited by the Council for the National Registry of Health Service Providers
-
An American Psychological Association (APA) –accredited doctoral program
-
CPR certification (American Heart Association, Red Cross, or ASHI)
-
Strong interpersonal, clinical, and documentation skills
- A compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to patient care
- Correctional experience is a plus, but not required
