POSITION: Associate Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee
SCHEDULE: Opportunities available for day and evening shifts
FACILITY: Shawnee Correctional Center
LOCATION: Vienna, Illinois
PAY RATE: $28/hr.

Position Summary
As an Associate Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee in our facility, you’ll do more than care for patients – you’ll lead, support, and advocate. Under the direct supervision of the designated Wexford Health manager and clinical supervision from a Psychologist or clinically licensed QMHP, you will provide mental health services to individuals in our care. Responsibilities include assessments, consultations, liaison activities, and appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions.

What You’ll Need
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or psychology
- Licensure is not required to start; however, candidates must obtain an LSW, LPC, ALMFT, LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT within 960 hours of employment.
- Candidates must also demonstrate eligibility for licensure (pending completion of the respective licensure exam). Eligibility can be demonstrated through the completion of a Master’s or Doctoral program that meets IDFPR board approval, such as:

A Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)–accredited Master’s program

A Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)–accredited Master’s program
-
A program accredited by the Council for the National Registry of Health Service Providers
-
An American Psychological Association (APA) –accredited doctoral program
-

CPR certification (American Heart Association, Red Cross, or ASHI)
-
Strong interpersonal, clinical, and documentation skills
- A compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to patient care
- Correctional experience is a plus, but not required
