SCHEDULE:     Opportunities available for day and night shifts
FACILITY:       Western Virginia Regional Jail
LOCATION:     Salem, VA
PAY RATE:      Starting at $28.00/hr.

As a Certified Medication Technician, you'll work closely with nursing staff to support medication management and help promote positive health outcomes for patients.

Position Summary
Working under the supervision of nursing leadership, you'll assist with medication administration and support daily medical unit operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory and facility standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, administering, and documenting prescribed medications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and scope of practice
  • Monitoring medication inventories, maintaining medication carts, and ensuring medications and supplies are properly stocked and within expiration dates
  • Observing patients for medication-related concerns and promptly reporting adverse reactions or changes in condition
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting medication audits, quality improvement activities, and regulatory compliance
  • Assisting nursing staff with patient care activities, patient education, first aid, and daily medical unit operations
  • Ensuring patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA, infection control, and medication administration standards

You'll go beyond medication administration.
You'll help ensure patients receive safe, timely, and effective care every day.

What You’ll Need

  •  Certified Medication Technician (Aide) certification required
  •  Current CPR certification
  •  High School Diploma or GED required
  •  One (1) year of experience in a medical environment preferred
  •  Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
