Wexford Health has an exceptional opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join our team of healthcare professionals at Central New Mexico Correctional Facility in Los Lunas, NM.

This is on the evening shift, 5 days per week.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Manager works with the Director of Nursing in structuring comprehensive planning and implementing the Nursing Services program that guides the delivery of a quality health care program. Also responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Also directs and guides patient teaching activities and ancillary personnel, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

REPORTS TO:

Direct clinical supervision provided by the Director of Nursing and administrative supervision provided by the Health Services Administrator

SUPERVISES:

Staff RNs and LPNs

INTER-RELATES WITH:

Inter-relates and work effectively with patients, medical and nursing staff, security staff at all levels, administrative and support staff, consulting physicians, and regional team members as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

LICENSURE:

Current, valid New Mexico Registered Nurse license

CERTIFICATION:

Current CPR Certification

EXPERIENCE:

Correctional nursing or two (2) years of administrative experience

Three (3) years of professional or psychiatric nursing, or nursing instruction experience. A master’s degree in Nursing Education may substitute for two (2) years for the required experience

EDUCATION:

BSN is preferred; two years of supervisory experience may be substituted.
