SCHEDULE:     Opportunities available for day, evening, and night shifts
FACILITY:       Douglas County Department of Corrections
LOCATION:     Omaha, NE

As a Psychiatric Technician, you'll play an important role in supporting patients with mental health and developmental needs while helping create a safe, structured therapeutic environment.

Position Summary
As a Psychiatric Technician, you'll work as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team, providing therapeutic support and supervision to patients participating in mental health programs. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and facilitating therapeutic activities designed to support treatment goals and patient progress
• Providing direct supervision, support, and instruction to patients within behavioral health programs and housing units
• Observing patient behavior, evaluating participation, and communicating concerns or recommendations to the treatment team
• Maintaining accurate clinical and administrative documentation while supporting quality improvement initiatives
• Assisting with program operations, including supplies, equipment, and medication area organization
• Collaborating with behavioral health staff to promote patient stability, safety, and recovery

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
• Current CPR certification
• One (1) year of Psychiatric Technician experience preferred
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred
